Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup diced ham or bacon optional 🥓

Instructions
 

  • Cook macaroni in the cauldron according to package instructions. Strain and set aside.
  • In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in flour, salt, and pepper to make a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  • Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Mix in cooked macaroni and optional ham or bacon.
  • Transfer to an ovenproof dish, top with breadcrumbs, and sprinkle with paprika.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes until golden brown.
