Equipment

  • Skewers: I prefer small, wooden skewers, about 4-5 inches long.
  • Cutting board: Useful for slicing ingredients.
  • Sharp knife: Essential for cutting the mozzarella and tomatoes.
  • Small bowl: Perfect for mixing the balsamic glaze.
  • Serving platter: Arrange the finished skewers for a beautiful presentation.

Ingredients

  • Cherry tomatoes: 1 pint halved
  • Fresh mozzarella balls: About 20 small balls
  • Fresh basil leaves: 20 leaves
  • Balsamic glaze: 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper: To taste

Instructions

  • Assemble: I start by threading a tomato half, followed by a basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball, and finish with another tomato half on the skewer.
  • Drizzle: Arrange skewers on the platter, then drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze. 🍴
  • Season: Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

Experiment with ingredients for added fun!
I sometimes add Prosciutto or pesto for a twist.
If fresh basil isn't available, try using arugula.
These skewers can be made a few hours in advance. Just cover them and keep them in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
