Here’s what I use to make these cheesy puffs:
Baking sheet: For placing the pastries.
Parchment paper: To prevent sticking.
Rolling pin: Flattens the pastry.
Pastry brush: Useful for applying egg wash.
Sharp knife or pizza cutter: For cutting the pastry.
Mixing bowl: For blending ingredients.
Oven mitts: Keep those hands safe when handling hot trays.
Here's the list of what I need to create my monster puffs:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry dough thawed
- 1 cup shredded cheese like mozzarella or cheddar
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- A pinch of salt and pepper
- Olive slices for eyes optional
Let's make those cheese puffs:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
Spread the shredded cheese evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle with parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cut the dough into strips and twist each one.
Brush twists with the beaten egg.
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Add olive slices for monster eyes.
Let them cool briefly before enjoying. 😋
📝 Here are a few tips to make sure these come out perfect:
Thaw the puff pastry for about 30 minutes before use.
Try different cheeses for more flavor variety.
If you're feeling creative, add some chopped herbs like basil or oregano.
These are best served warm but taste great at room temperature too.
Enjoy making and munching on these cheesy delights! 🧀👻
