Equipment

  • Mixing bowls: You'll need a couple to separate yolks and mix ingredients.
  • Spoon or piping bag: Use these for filling the egg whites.
  • Cutting board and knife: Essential for chopping olives.
  • Pan: This is for boiling the eggs.
  • Timer: To ensure perfect hard-boiled eggs.
  • Having everything ready makes the process quick and easy. 🥚

Ingredients

  • Eggs: 6 large eggs are usually enough for a small group.
  • Mayonnaise: To add creaminess. I recommend using about 3 tablespoons.
  • Yellow mustard: Just 1 teaspoon to give it a bit of tang.
  • Salt & pepper: Add these to taste.
  • Black olives: You'll need several to create the spider bodies and legs.
  • Paprika: This is optional but adds a little color and flavor.

These ingredients make up the delicious filling and the olive spiders that sit on top.

Instructions

  • Boil the eggs: Place eggs in a pan, cover with water, and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Let them cool.
  • Peel and halve: Carefully peel the eggs and cut them in half.
  • Make the filling: Remove yolks, mash them in a bowl, and mix with mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  • Fill the eggs: Either spoon or pipe the mixture back into the egg whites.
  • Create spiders: Slice olives in half for bodies and in small strips for legs.
  • Arrange them on the eggs.

Get creative and have fun arranging your spider legs!

    Notes

I like to serve these eggs cold; refrigerate if needed.
Always use fresh ingredients to enhance flavor.
If you'd like a bit of heat, sprinkle a dash of cayenne pepper.
    Feel free to customize!
Maybe try adding a bit of chopped chives or dill. ✨
Each egg is a tasty little work of art that'll have guests tearing through the dining table in no time.
    Enjoy! 🍳🎃
