Mixing bowls: Medium size for combining ingredients.
Knife: For chopping veggies.
Cutting board: Essential for prepping.
Measuring cups and spoons: Precise measuring is key.
Spatula or spoon: To mix everything together.
- 2 medium squashes butternut or acorn work well
- 1 cup of shredded cheese
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A dash of nutmeg and cinnamon for that spooky flavor
- A splash of olive oil
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Chop the squash into cubes and boil until tender.
In a bowl, mix squash, onion, garlic, soup, and spices.
Spread the mixture into the baking dish.
Top with cheese and breadcrumbs.
Drizzle olive oil over the top for crispiness.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool a bit before serving.
This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings, and feel free to spice it up with extra herbs.
If you prefer, replace mushroom soup with any creamy alternative.
For a healthier twist, use whole grain breadcrumbs or add in other veggies you love.
It’s a memorable dish that brings out the spooky spirit and a big smile! 😄
